Thank you for participating in the ILC2023 in Rostock! We were pleased to host such an interesting and relevant conference. Please enjoy the impressions of the conference review.  Your ILC2023 organizing committee.

The Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE) and the Julius Kühn Institute - Federal Research Centre for Cultivated Plants are honoured to welcome you as the hosts of the XVI. International Lupin Conference under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL).The conference will take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Rostock, Germany from June 19th until June 23rd 2023.

Yes, it is finally happening. After several postponements due to the global pandemic, the XVI. International Lupin Conference is finally coming to Rostock, Germany in June 2023, as it was decided by the International Lupin Association during the last ILC in 2019 in Cochabamba.
Due to uncertain times and possible travel restrictions, it was decided that the conference will take place as a hybrid event both in presence and online, to make it accessible to as many people as possible. Nonetheless, we hope we can welcome as many lupin enthusiasts, researchers, farmers etc. from different countries and continents as possible to come together and share the latest developments in lupin research and production.
The conference will highlight the following lupin related topics in sessions and poster presentations:

  • Lupin Cultivation and Farming worldwide

  • Phenotypic and Genotypic Variability in Lupin

  • Lupin 'Omics'

  • Genetic Improvement

  • Biotic and Abiotic Stress

  • Lupin Ingredients and Biochemistry

  • Feed, Food and Non-Food Uses

For the participants on site, an excursion is planned to visit field trials at the JKI location in Groß Lüsewitz and the lupin breeder location of Saatzucht Steinach in Bocksee, where a lupin processing company ProLupin and the UFOP Association will also be represented. The conference dinner with regional food will take place on Thursday, June 22nd at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Rostock.
We hope we can welcome many of you personally and that we can continue the lupin research and production progress with the long awaited ILC in 2023.
